Exhibihition Trip in Museum Tsunami Aceh (Aceh-Japan Community Art Project 2018)

On December 21, 2018. I and my friends visited the Aceh Museum to see the exhibition organized by Aceh Japan Community in commemoration of the 14th anniversary of the tsunami in Aceh. That day I went with 5 of my friends. But because we went by ourselves. I went to the museum first and then waited for others. After waiting a few minutes my other friend followed. we arrived at the Tsunami Museum around 11:00. and by the time we arrived, we watched the dance by elementary school-age children. Unfortunately, because we came at 11 o'clock and the dance was almost over and the perfomance we saw at that time was the last call of the dance. They performed Indian dance.

The exhibition was held from December 16 to December 26, 2018 on the 14-year tsunami commemoration day. Because we wanted to see the exhibition. We should payed around IDR 5,000 per person. But on a typical day it doesn't pay except in weekend. When we visited the Museum there were also tourists from Malaysia who were visiting the Museum and the atmosphere was very dense.

The exhibition was held on the 3rd floor of the Tsunami Museum. Therefore we had to pass the 1st and 2nd floors. The exhibition was held in two rooms. the first is the place where the Project that has been implemented is displayed there. In this room there are many works from participants who participated in enlivening the exhibition. Here are several exhibitions in room 1.

Oshiruko Dream  Art Project.

In this room, we can follow a workshop about design things.

And there are a lot of result of drawing by children in the morning which is displayed in this room.

Let's go the next room. If in the first room there were many works from children and also many children who participated while the second room had only an extension of the large-sized work. In this room. There is also an exhibition of animated images and also the work of our friends from the same university and department. They opened their own exhibition here and sold handicrafts to visitors.

Here are their exhibitions

In the yard of Aceh Museum you could see people who wear Kimono ( Japanese Traditional Custom). Based on the information I got from one of the committe, it was free when the opening day but now the Kimono rented about IDR 20.000 for 10 minutes. You could find Acehnese custom too here. This event must be like culture exchange between Aceh and Japan.

And one amazing thing that I saw in Aceh Museum was a display which represent the wave of sea water when Tsunami happened.

That's all about my experience visited an exhibition in Aceh Museum Tsunami.
